The BEFORE Jesus Picture

  1. Ephesians 2:1
“And you were dead in your trespasses and sins.”
Action to Consider: Reflect on how life apart from Jesus was spiritually lifeless and void of purpose. Let this truth motivate you to walk in ways that honor God’s intentions for your life.

  2. Ephesians 2:2
“In which you previously walked according to the ways of this world, according to the ruler of the power of the air, the spirit now working in the disobedient.”
Action to Consider: Acknowledge how the enemy once influenced your thinking. Stand firm in God’s Word to resist worldly values that distract from God’s truth.

  3. Ephesians 2:3
“We too all previously lived among them in our fleshly desires, carrying out the inclinations of our flesh and thoughts, and we were by nature children under wrath as the others were also.”
Action to Consider: Guard against selfishness and worldly desires by focusing on living for God’s will. Practice self-control and discernment in your decisions.

The AFTER Jesus Picture

  1. Ephesians 2:4-5
“But God, who is rich in mercy, because of His great love that He had for us, made us alive with Christ even though we were dead in trespasses. You are saved by grace!”
Action to Consider: Celebrate the mercy and grace of God that brought you from death to life. Let His love inspire your daily worship and service to others.

  2. Ephesians 2:6
“He also raised us up with Him and seated us with Him in the heavens in Christ Jesus.”
Action to Consider: Embrace your spiritual authority and privilege in Christ. Approach each day with the confidence of someone who is part of God’s eternal Kingdom.

  3. Ephesians 2:7
“So that in the coming ages He might display the immeasurable riches of His grace through His kindness to us in Christ Jesus.”
Action to Consider: Live as a testimony of God’s grace. Share your story and extend kindness to others as a reflection of God’s work in you.

  4. Ephesians 2:8-9
“For you are saved by grace through faith, and this is not from yourselves; it is God’s gift, not from works, so that no one can boast.”
Action to Consider: Stay humble, knowing your salvation is a gift. Be quick to give glory to God in all your accomplishments.

  5. Ephesians 2:10
“For we are His workmanship, created in Christ Jesus for good works, which God prepared beforehand so that we would walk in them.”
Action to Consider: Step into your calling with confidence. Seek ways to serve others and glorify God through the work He has prepared for you.

Our Privilege in This Life “In Christ”

  • Knowing God: Commit to spending time in prayer and Scripture to deepen your relationship with Him.

  • Listening to His Spirit: Cultivate a habit of pausing to listen for God’s guidance in your daily decisions.

  • Seated in His Presence: Rejoice in the reality that through prayer, you are in God’s presence. Approach Him with boldness and humility.

  • God’s Vision for You: Seek to understand and live out God’s vision for your life, asking daily how you can reflect Jesus to the world.

Action Summary: Understanding who you were before Jesus magnifies the beauty of who you are in Him now. Walk each day in gratitude, reflecting God’s grace, love, and purpose. Remember that your transformation is not only for your benefit but also for representing Christ to a broken world, pointing others to the hope and healing found in Him.
