Our Story
For nearly seven decades, Valley Park Church has been an integral part of the North Hills community in Los Angeles, dedicating itself to serving and uplifting the lives of its residents since its inception in 1954. Our church stands as a vibrant tapestry that beautifully reflects the rich diversity found within our community. We proudly welcome and embrace individuals from a multitude of ethnicities, diverse educational paths, varying socio-economic circumstances, and spanning different generations.
Our affiliation is with the Baptist tradition, which acknowledges the Bible as the sole trustworthy authority guiding our lives. It shapes our understanding of morality, purity, integrity, spirituality, and the afterlife. This affiliation doesn't signify uniformity in our beliefs. Rather, you'll find us consistently delving into the study of the Bible and engaging in discussions to glean insights from its teachings."
Valley Park is a church that reflects the ethnic, educational, socio-economic, and generational diversity of the North Hills community. We are passionate about the fact that as a church, we are God’s family made up of God’s children. This means we see each other as a “new creation” and it is our goal to live consistently with who we understand ourselves to be. Fellowship and brotherly love are chief priorities in our church involvement.
We embrace our diversity by hosting two services simultaneously on Sunday mornings at 10:30 am—one featuring contemporary music and the other honoring traditional hymns. Following this, at 11:00 am, we unite in our main Sanctuary to receive God's Word. Post-service, we gather for fellowship and food, typically in the courtyard, fostering a sense of togetherness.
We further embrace diversity by extending support to Iglesia Bautista Valley Park, our Hispanic church, which holds a service every Sunday at 1 pm. We strongly believe that as two churches sharing one site, we embody God's vision for His children to collaborate harmoniously as one."
