Valley Park Food Pantry
For nearly a decade, the members of Valley Park Church and dedicated volunteers have been steadfastly managing a vital food pantry, extending nourishment and hope to our community. Scripture reminds us in Matthew 25:35-36 (NIV), 'For I was hungry and you gave me something to eat, I was thirsty and you gave me something to drink, I was a stranger and you invited me in, I needed clothes and you clothed me, I was sick and you looked after me, I was in prison and you came to visit me.' Our actions mirror these words, extending care to those facing hunger and need in our midst. As we serve, we embody this love—expressing it not just in words but through tangible, compassionate actions.
Understanding the Flow and how Valley Park Church's Wednesday Food Distribution Ensures Compassionate and Organized Assistance:
Numbered Ticket Distribution (11 am - 2:45 pm):
Beginning at 11 am, individuals can receive a numbered ticket, determining their place in line for the distribution.
This early distribution of tickets provides flexibility for participants and contributes to a smoother process.
Participants can use the time between receiving their numbered ticket and the start of distribution at 3:00 pm to wait or engage in other activities.
Sorting and Preparation by Volunteers (1-2:45 pm):
Starting at 1 pm, volunteers swiftly unload the truck and meticulously sort the provisions in preparation for distribution.
The sorting process is guided by the commitment to providing nourishment and hope to the community.
Distribution Commencement (3 pm):
The food distribution officially begins at 3:00 pm, following the completion of the sorting process.
The distribution order is determined by the numbered tickets received, ensuring a fair and organized process.
Individuals proceed through the distribution line, receiving the sustenance provided by Valley Park Church's food pantry.
Approximately 120-140 families are served during this period.
Conclusion (5 pm):
The food distribution concludes around 5:00 pm, marking the end of our weekly outreach effort.
Our commitment to this endeavor reflects the heart of 1 John 3:17-18 (NIV), 'If anyone has material possessions and sees a brother or sister in need but has no pity on them, how can the love of God be in that person? Dear children, let us not love with words or speech but with actions and in truth.' As we serve, we embody this love—expressing it not just in words but through tangible, compassionate actions.
At Valley Park Church, our food pantry stands as a beacon of hope, a testament to our unwavering commitment to serve our community with love, dignity, and the sustenance they require.
