June 9th Recap & Application of Pastor Kevyn’s Sermon Notes: "Jesus’ Purpose in Life"

By us reflecting on these verses and principles, we can deepen our relationship with Jesus and live out our faith more fully each day.

John 1:12-13

"But as many as received Him, to them He gave the right to become children of God, to those who believe in His name, who were born, not of blood, nor of the will of the flesh, nor of the will of a man, but of God."

Thoughts to Live By: Embrace your identity as a child of God by believing in Jesus. Reflect daily on the fact that your spiritual rebirth is a supernatural act of God, not based on human effort. Let this truth guide your actions and decisions, reinforcing your trust in God's plan for your life.

Ezekiel 36:24-28 and Jeremiah 31:31-34

Thoughts to Live By: Acknowledge God's promises of a new heart and spirit. Commit to living in a way that reflects God's laws written on your heart. Let the indwelling Holy Spirit guide your daily walk, fostering a deeper relationship with God and a transformed life.

Colossians 1:26-27 and Hebrews 4:12-16

"The mystery which had been hidden from the past ages and generations, but now has been revealed to His saints, to whom God willed to make known what the wealth of the glory of this mystery among the Gentiles is, the mystery that is Christ in you, the hope of glory."

Thoughts to Live By: Recognize that Christ lives within you, providing hope and glory. Allow this reality to inspire you to live a life that reflects Jesus’ character. Use the power of the Word of God, which is alive and active, to discern and follow God's will.

Matthew 20:28; 26:26-29; John 15:1-10; 20:22

Thoughts to Live By: Understand the comprehensive nature of Jesus' life work. He cleanses, purchases, breathes life, and nurtures. Daily, accept Jesus' sacrifice, remain in His teachings, and let the Holy Spirit empower and guide you.

Genesis 15:1-6

Thoughts to Live By: Embrace the struggle between skepticism and belief as part of the faith journey. Like Abraham, trust in God’s promises even when they seem impossible. Let this trust grow your faith and reliance on God’s word.

John 1:1-5, 14

"In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. He was in the beginning with God. All things were made through Him, and without Him nothing was made that was made. In Him was life, and the life was the light of men. And the light shines in the darkness, and the darkness did not comprehend it. ... And the Word became flesh and dwelt among us, and we beheld His glory, the glory as of the only begotten of the Father, full of grace and truth."

Thoughts to Live By: Reflect on Jesus' divine nature and His incarnation. Let the reality of Jesus being the Word made flesh deepen your reverence and awe. Strive to embody His grace and truth in your interactions.

Matthew 6:5-15

Thoughts to Live By: Follow Jesus’ teaching on prayer. Approach God as a loving Father, bring your needs before Him, seek His will, and practice forgiveness. Let your prayer life shape your daily walk and dependence on God.

Matthew 16:18-19

Thoughts to Live By: Recognize the authority given to the Church. Commit to being an active and supportive member of your local church, contributing to its mission and growth.

John 15:1-10

Thoughts to Live By: Abide in Jesus and His teachings. Ensure your life is rooted in Him, bearing fruit that reflects His love and truth. Remain connected to Jesus daily through prayer, scripture, and obedience.

Romans 8:28

"And we know that God causes all things to work together for good to those who love God, to those who are called according to His purpose."

Thoughts to Live By: Trust that every circumstance in your life is being used by God for your good. Maintain love and commitment to God, knowing He has a purpose for you that transcends your understanding.

Psalm 51:10

"Create in me a clean heart, God, And renew a steadfast spirit within me."

Thoughts to Live By: Regularly seek God’s cleansing and renewal. Ask God to create a pure heart in you and to strengthen your spirit. Let this prayer guide you towards a closer, more faithful walk with Jesus.
